Eco Facts

GRS, The Global Recycled Standard, is a third-party certification that guarantees that:

  1. the percentage of recycled material claimed is actually true.
  2. toxic chemicals are not used at any step in the recycling process.
  3. thorough water treatment is required at each step of the production process (because even benign chemicals, like salt, if expelled in wastewater, will eventually destroy the local eco- system).
  4. workers' rights, and health and safety standards are maintained.

If you MUST use plastic fabric (human-made from petroleum), please insist on GRS certified fabric. There is a huge difference between recycled plastic and GRS recycled plastic. What are the differences?

Pre-shrunk. If ironing is needed, iron with a cool iron. This is untreated plastic and it will melt.

Why choose us?

We've done the work for you

Over the years, Patty and Leigh Anne dedicated tons of time researching ethical and sustainable production—how it’s done, and what the implications are to us (and to all living things)  and to our planet.  They even put it in their mission statement, a goal “to change the way textiles are being made” – kind of a reach for such an upstart little company, right?
